Everyone always asks you what it is that you want to do in life. Most of the time this question is coming from our parents or our family member. Some of us are fortunate enough to know and others of us have no idea. There is extreme pressure on us to be succesful, get a good job, go to college, etc. What if we don’t want all that? Do you think it;s right that our parents put so much pressure on us or do you think they should just let us live and make our own choices and mistake?

Lying January 24, 2012
From a very young age we are taught that lying is never okay. We know that lying hurts others and only gets us into more trouble. We even learn about lying in the bible when Peter denies three times that he knows Jesus. But what about little white lies? You know the white lies our parents told us like about the Tooth Fairy or Santa Claus? Or what about lying to a friend to keep his or her feelings from being hurt? Are little white lies okay if we know the truth will hurt someone? What do you think?

Caring January 20, 2012
You hear something similar to this every day in the halls. “Did you study for that test?” “No, i’m definitely going to fail!” In reality though this girl studied for a good 2 hours. Why is it that she felt the need to sound so indifferent about her studies? Why is it that we won’t always admit to caring about our grades and how we do in school? We put ourselves down constantly and try to seem like we don’t really care. Are we scared of being judged or is it something else?

Intention January 11, 2012
I find myself asking the same question over and over. Does God really intend for bad things to happen to good people? I have found myself leaning towards beliefs that a Deist Catholic would have. I believe God created the earth and everything on it and I believe the bible is true. However I believe that once God created us and put everything together he let it be and take its own course. So he doesn’t decide or control our every movement or thought process. Therefore he does not intend for violence to be present in the world. What is your opinion? What do you think God’s role in our life is?
January January 9, 2012
I always love January…it is the month named after Janus, the god who has two faces, one looking back and one looking forward. Looking back, I see the missed opportunities of 2011 as well as the moments that touched my heart. Now I look forward and resolve to make a promise to myself that I don’t think I can keep, to give soft answers, to stop magnifying small problems, to find time to be kind, to forgive an injustice that I have held onto, to truly understand a point of view that is different from my own, to take care of myself…to say I love you often, to consider all questions sacred… I vow to make this the best year of my life. How can you make this the best year of your life?
Fate January 9, 2012
Do things happen for a reason? Is there some cosmic force that brings us together, or maybe tears us apart? I personally am torn on this topic. Somethings in my life I believe happened for a reason, and other times I believe that I make my own path. But I really would like to know if you believe in fate, and if things happen for a reason?

Helping at Christmas December 12, 2011
“While earning your daily bread, be sure you share a slice with those less fortunate.” -from the book P.S. I Love You. As the christmas season arrives, we often think about what we want and are getting for christmas. Rarely do we think about those who will be lucky if they even receive one gift this year. This christmas season, are you going to do something to help lose less fortunate then yourself? Challenge yourself to go out of your way to help someone. What could you do?

Praying December 8, 2011
We are told that we should always pray regardless if something is wrong or if we need something or not. But I think that often people don’t take the time to pray unless they are in need of some sort of help or guidance. Do you feel that God is disappointed or unhappy that we have a tendency to do this? Do you think that he prefers to not answer those prayers because they were only prayed in a time of need?

Homeless on Christmas December 8, 2011
Homelessness is a huge problem in America over 3.5 million people are homeless. Many go without the basic necessities that we take for granted every day. Sanitary products, hygiene products, band aids, food, and shelter. We all know that this is a huge tragedy but how many of you all have actually taken time and pictured yourself where they are at now? As winter starts to really set in and christmas rolls around the corner can you picture yourself living on the streets right now? It seems so distant but the shocking thing is that people just like us, are homeless right now as we speak. People who have graduated from private schools and public schools there’s no difference because the background doesn’t matter. Could you even imagine spending christmas in the cold snow sleeping outside? Do you ever fear that one day you could end up like this? What other fears do you have ?

What is success? December 8, 2011
At different stages of our life, we define success as different things. When we were little, success might have been finally getting rid of your pacifier. Now, it might be getting into college. But at the end of your life, when you look back on everything, what do you think will make you feel like you have succeeded or failed in life?
